SPECIALTIES

I work with runners at the start of their athletic journey all the way to competitive athletes. My passion for coaching is comes through the most when working with motivated individuals. I love to see people improve and be the best versions of themselves. All programs are specifically tailored to each individuals baseline, needs and goals.

For those new to the sport, I specialize in getting you from your first steps to your first race. I introduce fundamentals of recovery, zoned training systems and strength. In addition to physical traits, I will educate you on the mental component of racing and training.

For the competitive runner, I specialize in preparing you to hit new personal bests by your next competition. Competitive athletes at this stage will benefit the most through personal accountability and consistency. By this stage of the game, athletes are determined. My perspective is not to push the athlete to do something they do not already want. Rather, I believe in giving them the tools and preparation to smash their personal bests. These personal bests will be achieved through training that focuses on different zones (aerobic, threshold, V02), strength training, and a winner’s mentality.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a coach for 13+ years and a running coach for over 10 at all different levels and ages. I started off as a running coach at my former high school. From there I progressed to being hired to coach a Physical Education unit. The highlight of that coaching experience was hearing that every single individual in one of the classes improved their 5k time. In addition to that experience, I have provided personalized programs to individuals trying to hit their road running goals, technical improvements and track specific workouts.

ABOUT ME

I am an athlete with Team Canada experience and bring that over to coaching where I have over thirteen years of experience. I help introduce beginners to the sport and competitive athletes beat their personal bests.

BIG INFLUENCES

Steve Magness – Consistency and patience. Keep the easy days easy and improve little by little and work very hard at the right times.

Brother Colm – The 800m WR’s coach taught a lot about how much of running is mental and what it takes to be a winner.

The Norwegian Method – The value of threshold training.

RACING HISTORY

The most impactful race of my career was at the National Finals when I went from 7th to 3rd in the finial 100m. This race solidified my spot on Team Canada for the Pan American Games as well as set a club record and personal best.
