PHILOSOPHY

I believe strongly that coaching is both an art and a science and no two athletes are the same. I take the whole individual into account; their “why”, their values and what self beliefs/doubts they may have as the foundation for my approach to building an individual program to help them grow and achieve their goals. I also take into account the big picture of their complete life; family, work, personal stress, etc. as a way to guide training stress and recovery to fit into their lifestyle and achieve results.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been coaching for 10+ years for individuals and teams of all ages and abilities; high school and beyond from beginner to elite, 5k to ultras and have coached many athletes to a BQ.

ABOUT ME

On the weekends, you most likely will find me out on the trails with my rescue puppy, hubby or girlfriends. The trails are my happy space and hiking, running and mountain biking are my solace. When I’m not being super active you will most likely find me on my couch, being super inactive under a blanket with a good book. I love reading all genres and researching new science behind human physical and mental performance. I am also an art fanatic and love to take pictures, paint and draw in my free time…creativity overflows into coaching and every other part of my life.

RACING HISTORY

Having been in remission for an autoimmune disease for the past 15 years, I have maximized my “second chance” at having an ability to move and enjoy the endurance lifestyle that I love so much as well as giving back to the community as a coach. My Ironman triathlon finishes as well as ultra trail run and ultra mountain bike races are the ones that stand out to me as most meaningful and remind me that all things are possible even in the most challenging of circumstances…we GET to do this.

Coach Christy is the absolute GOAT (Greatest of All Time). Would give her 10 stars if I could. I contacted Coach Christy through Team Run Run seeking help on run training for Army Ranger School. I needed to run 4 miles in under 32 minutes, only had 2 months to get there, and I could not seem to break through on my current training plan. Coach Christy’s profile seemed like a great fit so I reached out and am beyond grateful I did. Coach Christy changed my training plan and perspective on running, and I think most importantly for me, is truly one of the biggest hype women and supporters I have had throughout this process. She has helped me work through mental blocks and confidence while running, and has pushed me to be closer to my goals than I ever have been before. I had a relatively unique training request for Coach Christy, as I have been concurrently following a strength intensive Ranger preparation training program. Coach Christy had me send her the training program, she looked at it, and she worked with me one on one to determine where best to adjust the strength program so that I could emphasize the run training, as it was the area I needed most improvement. She worked with my very unique situation and made an awesome training plan that worked with another one, as well as personal scheduling requirements I also had in my life (i.e. work schedules, weddings, etc.).

Coach Christy is extremely positive and encouraging. On days when my runs were not the best, she understood from an athlete’s perspective and mindset how that feels and acknowledged it, but then would turn it right around and normalize the ups and downs of trainings, providing me with great mantras and feedback such as, “Control the controllables, then give it hell!”

Coach Christy also did not let me slide. She actively contacted me and reached out to check in on how the training had gone that day, and how I was feeling. She did not let me not provide her feedback even if it was not a great performance on my end! She was extremely responsive through text and phone calls. She spoke with me on the phone multiple times, is a fantastic listener, and literally took into consideration all of my concerns holistically as she tailored my program to me. She also created the program as a living document. She did not just give me 30 days of training plan and tell me to do it. She made a training plan week by week and made adjustments based on my performance and ultimately my end goal, and the timeframe I had to reach it in. She is truly a real-time coach dedicated to your success, and it felt to me that she had a personal stake in my success, and truly cared about my training and end goal. She created challenging programs that pushed me to my limit while at the same time being the positive encourager I needed and also the seasoned athlete herself who you could tell truly understood the ups and downs of training, through her own experience. She spoke into words what I was feeling without me saying it, and it made me feel like my experience was not a unique one but one that all runners have, and that I could get through it! Coach Christy also frequently asked about rest and fueling, making sure rest cycles were honored and that I was eating enough! Extremely positive experience regarding diet, rest, and fueling, she emphasized the importance of those to training and made sure I was implementing those factors properly. No negative dieting feedback from Christy, she had a very healthy approach to fueling which was eat what you need to fuel your body and make sure you do it before and after training! which was awesome!!! She also used the local area where I live to develop training plans. Her plans included long runs in the area, stair workouts at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and treadmill pace runs at my local gym.

Bottomline: Coach Christy is awesome. She has been absolutely essential to my training and I did not know how much I needed her. She was not only responsive to me, but actively reached out to me and took the initiative with my training. Coach Christy is awesome if you are looking for a tough, kind, positive, experienced, tailored, dedicated, personable, knowledgeable, holistic, push-you-to-your-limits coach/partner/friend to get you to your goals. I am approaching my 32 min goal and have no doubt I will be hitting it, and absolutely know that I likely would not have arrived here without Coach Christy’s help. Thank you Coach!

Working with Christy the last 5 months has been wonderful and I highly recommend her as your next coach! What really drew me towards her profile was her experience having an autoimmune disease. Many aren’t aware of how difficult it can be living with one, and trying to stay active. I myself have Hashimoto’s, and have struggled in the past trying to start back into running/ working out. I came to Christy to help me find the passion I once had for running, and build up my stamina up to maybe even run a marathon again. With her help, I’ve been able to build a great foundation, and now training with her to run the Chevron Houston Marathon in 2026! Having the flexibility of a coach, my first time having one, has made such a difference in being able to adapt with whatever life and Hashi’s has thrown at me during training. We’ve been able to make amazing progress without it being too much, and my confidence in my ability to run has tremendously improved in ways I wasn’t able to do on my own. I truly appreciate her understanding this “training season” means much more to me than just finishing a race.
